How we fix mistakes, and a public log of every change.
Our commitment
We acknowledge every reported error within 24 hours and correct it, or explain why no change is needed, within 7 days.
How corrections work
- Every change to a published entry is recorded in that entry’s change log, with the date and what changed.
- Any change to a verified entry sends it back to a human editor for a fresh check before it is republished.
- If a source is retracted or receives an expression of concern, we take its entry offline and record the removal, the date and the reason in the log below, so that anyone who cited it can see what happened. An entry returns only if the source is cleared or corrected and a human editor re-verifies it.
- Significant corrections also appear in the log below and in the RSS feed.
